Salmon fishing has been heating up. The New Salmon Queen went out Friday
and got limit for 7 anglers. Yesterday, I went fishing with them. We got
fish per rod for 24 anglers. We would have gotten more fish, but the sea lion
decided to help themselves as well. We had a lot of shakers too. There was
lots of action.
Rapid Transit also went for salmon, but they fished the South. They
also did really good, almost like The New Salmon Queen..but they had some
big salmon. one up to 35 lb.
The Prime Time had a charter party. They fished live bait in the Bay.
They got limit bass and 10 halibuts.
Captain Hook run by Mike Fernandez also had a big load of anglers. They
limited out on striped bass and had 12 halibuts as well. Craig, at
the bait shop, who does the booking, said he was surprised that so many turned
out for fishing during the Memorial Day holiday. This may be due to the nice weather and
also the fish have started to cooperate..

The New Salmon Queen went to the island with 27 anglers for salmon. They
brought in 37 salmons up to 17 pounds. The weather was nice, overcast skies with
little wind. The water was flat like a lake. Captain Craig (Shim) said
he was surprised that it was so calm. The salmon is running now, we only need the
weather to get better then every one will want to go fishing for salmon. Until
then, thanks for looking into us.
Right now we are fishing for salmon out at the Island. The Prime Time limited
out on salmon. We also have been fishing with live bait for halibut and striper
in the Bay. We caught a few halibut and stripers of decent size. We expect
the numbers will be improving soon as the bait gets bigger.
We are working to put up some of the latest catches on our website.
